If you want to see and explore Rome, live very central but quiet and if you are not very keen on hotels but prefer to stay at a roman flat and to have contact with a friendly and intelligent person who lives in this great town, stay at the 4th floor.

My boyfriend and me did, and if we come back to Rome, we would definetely stay there again. We did not feel like being guests, more like being at home. Thank you, Lauro.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay in Rome, and thank you for being there for us during the transportation strike. Jean Paul and I so enjoyed talking with you, and getting a small glimpse of your life. You are such a free spirit and artist, and we feel very blessed and fortunate to have crossed life's paths.

Causa alcuni inconvenienti non abbiamo potuto scrivere prima le nostre impressioni riguardo al nostro soggiorno al B&B 4th floor durante il primo weekend di giugno.
Dire che siamo rimasti entusiasti è dire poco : Roma è una città stupenda e non potevamo trovare posto migliore, per il nostro soggiorno, che questo B&B, e questo per diversi motivi. La prima impressione positiva che abbiamo avuto riguarda la sua locazione : vicinissimo all'area storica di Roma e ancora di più a San Pietro, raggiungibile a piedi in un paio di minuti, ottimo quindi per una breve passeggiata notturna nel caso si sia troppo stanchi dalla scarpinata giornaliera!! :) Vicino a tutto ma allo stesso tempo tranquillo e pacifico. Ottimo veramente.
La seconda impressione positiva riguarda il padrone di casa, Lauro, una persona decisamente interessante che spero abbiate la fortuna di conoscere e di scambiarci quattro chiacchere assieme. Noi l'abbiamo avuta e tra i tanti bei ricordi di Roma sicuramente ha un suo posto una colazione... sì, una semplice colazione : una colazione durata a lungo perchè è stata così piacevole che ci dispiaceva finisse. La terrazza era soleggiata, la temperatura ottima, Lauro aveva su un cd di B.B. King e non poteva fare scelta migliore perchè calzava a pennello con quella mattina e con il nostro stato d'animo.... e dopo colazione ci siamo soffermati a lungo a chiaccherare con Lauro di molti argomenti e proprio in quella mattina abbiamo scoperto quanto sia piacevole chiaccherare con Lauro e quanto sia una persona piena di sorprese. Lo sappiamo, non abbiamo fatto chissà cosa, nessun avvenimento eclatante, ma è stato così piacevole che per una mattina ce ne siamo fregati di fori, rovine, musei, mausolei e quant'altro....
La terza impressione positiva l'abbiamo avuta riguardo alla totale libertà di cui disponevamo, veramente ci siamo sentiti come a casa nostra e senza limite alcuno se non quelli ovvi della convivenza civile.
Abbiamo spesso discusso di quanto meno bello sarebbe stato un soggiorno a Roma in un albergo o in un B&B dove magari fossimo stati trattati in maniera anonima, e invece.... e invece abbiamo trovato il 4th Floor, e per pura fortuna, una grande fortuna però, e quando torneremo a Roma Lauro sarà sicuramente la prima persona che contatteremo, sperando di avere ancora la stessa fortuna.
Ringraziamo il servizio italialodging per averci trovato questo posto e ringraziamo infinitamente Lauro per averci dato una splendida cornice per uno splendido viaggio a Roma.

We had an excellent stay at 4th Floor Bed & Breakfast, being particularly impressed with the accommodation's location and the owner. 4th Floor is located very close to St. Peter's Square, making it an excellent base from which to explore fabulous Roma! We felt safe and comfortable in this location, and it proved to be helpful for us in seeing as much of the city as possible in our short, 3 night stay. Lauro was so helpful in making our stay in Rome even more enjoyable by providing a local perspective on the sites, recommendations on places to go, and directions to get around with ease. He was fantastic and very enthusiastic about his service. He made us feel right at home. The room itself was adequate in meeting our needs and was comfortable. We would gladly stay there again on another trip to The Eternal City.

Following my visit to Rome, I felt I had to say what a pleasant five days I spent at Lauro's 4th Floor B&B. You couldn't find somewhere more conveniently located if you tried, with the Vatican just a couple of minutes walk away on one side and Castel Sant'Angelo on the picturesque banks of the river Tiber on the other!

The B&B itself is a unique experience- the landlord, Lauro has decorated this apartment simply and tastefully with an ethnic oriental feel. In fact on arriving I was immediately struck by the calm that presides over the apartment, a refreshing place to retreat to after a hard days sightseeing amidst the bustle of tourists and Vespa scooters!

Last but not least, sitting out on the terrace whether for a sunny breakfast or some cool evening air, is an experience not to be missed! If you're fortunate enough you might even bump into Lauro, an extremely interesting man who could tell you a tale or two about life in the ancient capital...
